Range rules in English
Range Rules and Safety Instructions
The firearm must always be pointed in the shooting direction while on the shooting stand.
Any test swings (gun mounts) must be directed in the shooting direction and one must have permission to do that from other persons at the same range. The gun must be empty.
The gun sling must be removed when shooting at the range.
Shooting is only allowed at shooting stations and with firearms intended for that specific range.
Only permitted types of firearms and cartridge may be used on the range:
Maximum cartridge load: Trap and Skeet 24 grams, Compak sporting 28 grams
Maximum shot size: 2.5 mm
Firearms may only be loaded at the shooting station.
The firearm may be loaded with a maximum of two cartridges. Please note the specific rules for each range.
Each target may only be shot at by one shooter.
Shooting must be performed in your assigned and agreed turn.
After your turn, cartridges must be removed from the gun.
Guns must not be left unattended in racks or any other location.
It is forbidden to touch another person's guns without permission.
While moving around the range area, the gun must always be unloaded, with the action open, broken open, or placed in a carrying case when possible.
Adjustments or movement of clay target throwers (machines) require permission from a range officer or shotgun section member.
Filling clay target machines is permitted only if you are aware of how to do it safely. A range officer or section member will gladly provide guidance on safe procedures.
Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited at the range. Anyone under the influence will be immediately removed.
Hearing protection is mandatory for all participants.
Eye protection is recommended for all shooters during shooting.
Eye (or corrective) protection is mandatory on sporting, compak, and skeet ranges – this applies to both shooters and spectators.
Eye protection is also recommended on the trap range.
Shooting must be stopped immediately if there is any unauthorized movement in front of the shooting stations (e.g., person, animal, vehicle) or if there is any other issue affecting shooting safety.
A range officer or shotgun section member may remove any person who violates the rules. Serious violations will be reported to the authorities.
